PFAS Requirements for Paper Packaging | BlackSea LOGI

Material and documentation review

PFAS requirements for paper packaging

A request for “no intentionally added PFAS” requires checks on material and process. BlackSea LOGI coordinates technical questions and documents through specialist partners; we do not hold our own PFAS certification.

Make the PFAS requirement specific, bounded and checkable.

Material and coatings

We identify paper, barrier, varnish, lamination and surface treatment. Requirements can differ for food, cosmetics or indirect contact. “Chemical-free” is not a realistic specification or a promise we make.

Inks, adhesives and process

The review also covers inks, adhesives, primer and partner operations. We ask what formulations and statements are available, separating no intentionally added PFAS from absolute analytical absence.

Documents and limits

We need intended use, markets and the document requested by the customer or applicable rules. Without evidence for the exact material, we do not promise “PFAS-free”, universal compliance or certification.

The decisions that matter

No intentionally added PFAS or analytical limit?

Define whether the request concerns formulation intent or a measured threshold.

Food contact or general use?

State the use because it changes which materials and documents require review.

Supplier statement or independent test?

Specify the evidence required; availability must be checked for the exact product.

Start with your brief.

Send the details you already know. We clarify the missing information together and check material, quantity and feasibility with the appropriate partner.
